How Acelepryn works
The active ingredient in Acelepryn insecticide is chlorantraniliprole which is known to effectively manage a range of nasty grubs that can cause damage to your lawn. These include:
- African Black Beetle larvae
- Billbug larvae
- Argentinian Scarab larvae
- Lawn Armyworm
- Cutworm
- Sod Webworm
It works by providing a barrier early in the season which prevents infestations from becoming a problem, by creating a hostile environment to deter harmful bugs and insects from causing irreparable damage. How to apply Acelepryn to your lawn

- Step 1 — Calculate the area that you want to treat. Apply at 750g to 1.5kg per 100m2. When you buy Acelepryn GR in a 10kg pack of granules, this will typically cover about 666 square metres.
- Step 2 — Add the required product to a spreader and apply evenly over your lawn.
- Step 3 — Once you have finished applying the product, lightly water your lawn. We recommend following the label directions, irrigating your lawn with 3mm of water.
By following these 3 quick and easy steps, you will keep your lawn protected for up to 6 months.
Application Timing
Season long control of up to 6 months can be achieved using the higher application rates. African Black Beetle / Argentinian Scarab: ACELEPRYN GR may be applied from spring onwards for preventative control of these pests. Argentine Stem Weevil / Billbug: ACELEPRYN GR should be applied when overwintered adults are first observed to prevent damage in late spring. Caterpillars: ACELEPRYN GR will provide excellent curative control in turfgrass and should be applied when pests/damage is observed

When and how to use it
When should I use it?
Acelepryn insecticide targets common lawn insects like African Black beetle larvae, Billbug larvae and Lawn Armyworm. Insects start to emerge from the soil as temperatures rise, that means the insecticide needs to be down before the insects start to damage your lawn. The ideal time for this is as soils warm up in Spring, so apply Acelepryn in the first week of September.
How do I use it?
It’s as simple as measuring the required amount out for your lawn, putting it in a spreader and applying evenly.
After applying, water in with at least 3mm of irrigation.

The technical stuff
Acelepryn binds strongly with the soils organic matter, making it heavily residual in the soil. Its unique mode of action (the way it works) means it has low toxicity to humans and dogs.

How do I get the best results?
A nice even coverage of the lawn is critical. The product is best applied before the insects get to big or become adults, that means an application before the first week of September.
How much water should I apply to water in?
Watering is required to get the product into the thatch layer, this will require 3mm.
Is this safe for all turf types?
Absolutely. However, do not use in the garden.
How long before I see results?
Acelepryn paralyses the insects below the soil, so you won’t see them come to the surface but you will start to see your lawn recover.
Is it safe for kids and pets?
The product has a great safety profile, but it’s still best to allow the product to dry before walking on your lawn. Like most products keep the product container out of reach of children and pets.
Do I need to do anything else to keep my lawn looking good?
