How Acelepryn works
The active ingredient in Acelepryn insecticide is chlorantraniliprole which is known to effectively manage a range of nasty grubs that can cause damage to your lawn. These include:
- African Black Beetle larvae
- Billbug larvae
- Argentinian Scarab larvae
- Lawn Armyworm
- Cutworm
- Sod Webworm
It works by providing a barrier early in the season which prevents infestations from becoming a problem, by creating a hostile environment to deter harmful bugs and insects from causing irreparable damage. With the correct application, the active ingredients in Acelepryn work for up to 6 months when applied in granular form to effectively protect your lawn.

How to apply Acelepryn to your lawn
The beauty of this product is it’s easy to apply and works fast. You can find out more details on how to apply Acelepryn in our blog, which will provide you with more detailed instructions, but the general application process is simple.
- Step 1 — Calculate the area that you want to treat. Apply at 750g to 1.5kg per 100m2. When you buy Acelepryn GR in a 10kg pack of granules, this will typically cover about 666 square metres.
- Step 2 — Add the required product to a spreader and apply evenly over your lawn.
- Step 3 — Once you have finished applying the product, lightly water your lawn. We recommend following the label directions, irrigating your lawn with 3mm of water.
By following these 3 quick and easy steps, you will keep your lawn protected for up to 6 months.
Application Timing
Season long control of up to 6 months can be achieved using the higher application rates. African Black Beetle / Argentinian Scarab: ACELEPRYN GR may be applied from spring onwards for preventative control of these pests. Argentine Stem Weevil / Billbug: ACELEPRYN GR should be applied when overwintered adults are first observed to prevent damage in late spring. Caterpillars: ACELEPRYN GR will provide excellent curative control in turfgrass and should be applied when pests/damage is observed
